Worn Out Places

Filed under: Web Art II — Mia @ 12:22 am

The assignment for Web Art II was to prepare a solo gallery presentation for critique. Perhaps it’s the long nights, falling leaves, or first snow that initiated my thoughts of Donnie Darko’s “Mad World” lyrics. The project’s song guided the video clips and images I captured. In FinalCut Studio’s Motion, video was linked to the beat of the music, and a particle generator created artifacts that were meant to represent a cityscape. This project has an artistic aesthetic that is very different from my past work. Below are two 22.5″ x 15″ images that were printed onto clear acrylic, for the gallery presentation. I use half-off coupons at Gallery Direct for most of my specialty printing.
